`Shawna

Show Name: Little Miss Mustang

Sex: Mare
Height: 14.1H
Born in 2001

Breed: Mustang (Shania is her mom) x Rocky Mountain Horse
Colour: Pinto (she is a brown, white, black pinto)
Use: Lessons, Pony Rides, Jumping, Trails
Best Friends: Shania (her mom) and Allure

Horsenality: Left Brain Introvert

Parelli Level: She is playing in Level 2 and 3

What's Interesting: She is half Choctaw mustang (a super rare breed) and half Kentucky Mountain Horse. She has white markings that are unique shapes. On one side she has a marking that looks like a duck. The other side looks like a heart (or is it a shark?). On her neck there is a white marking that looks like an anchor.
What She Likes: For anyone who has ever met Shawna, it won't take you long to learn that she loves scratches - especially belly scratches!
Talents: She is really lovely for students learning to canter, and she is a talented hunter pony
What Lindsey Says: “I just love this pony – when I first met her at Pleasure Valley I really wanted to own her one day. She is the perfect pony – so pretty, so smooth, so willing, so talented, quiet, and fun to be with. She has been just fantastic for parades, shows, trails, camp, and pony rides. I had a great time bringing her to New York in 2011 for trail riding, and I hope to spend many more great years with this pony.”
Information: Shawna lived her whole life at Pleasure Valley from the year she was born in 2001, up until April of 2011 when Lindsey purchased her. Shawna was used at Pleasure Valley on trail rides. Sometimes she was ridden by the public and sometimes she was used in lessons or by staff. Staff might ride her as the 'tail' on a trail (riding at the end of the trail to make sure everyone is okay).

Lindsey always loved Shawna when she worked at Pleasure Valley. Shawna has such a sweet personality and is very smooth and easy to ride. She is very brave and curious which makes her a safe and steady mount for kids and beginners. Her stunning markings make her adorable and unique. Lindsey was thrilled to be able to purchase both Shania and Shawna together (Shania is Shawna's mom).

Shawna is one of the favourites at the farm. She is very smooth and safe to ride. Shawna had a very full year in 2011 after joining LFEquestrian (at our Uxbridge facility). She went on many adventures including several offsite trail rides, traveling to New York for trail riding, riding in 3 Christmas parades, showing in the hunter ring, being used in a pony ride fundraiser with Lonestar and the Horse Rescue Series, doing pony parties, having fun in summer camp, and riding through Tim Hortons!

In 2012 Shawna continued to be a great success at our new facility in Pontypool, Partridge Horse hill. She started long distance riding - she did two 40km Competitive Trail Rides in 2012 with OCTRA and placed 2nd and 5th in the competitions. She is a very hardy mustang and can complete the long distance rides very easily.

Shawna continues to be a favourite at PHH. She is a calm and slow horse which makes her ideal for beginners and learning to canter jumps. She competed at Pause Awhile Equestrian Centre in the cross rail hunters in winter of 2014 and placed well with her part boarder.

Shawna is the perfect pony for low jumps, trails, and just having fun. She is a bit too slow and pokey for the bigger jumps, but she is amazing learning on.

She continues to be a trail riding favourite as she is so safe and steady on the trails.
